I pursued a vexing thought
Across the Net
of a Thousand Lies
Lost my way
Ten thousand dazzling truths
A path that feels like home
I’m an animist and polytheist living in a large city in Cascadia. I got pulled, hard, out of 30+ years of atheism/agnosticism in late spring of 2012, so to say I really don’t know where this is all going (still) would be accurate.
I’m a Lokean, and the deities in the Norse pantheon Who are most likely to show up to are either Loki’s Family, or members of the Jotnar, the Giants, the gods and goddesses who are (or are strongly tied to) the primal forces of nature. While I waver on whether or not to call myself “heathen,” for lots of reasons, I do fall squarely into the Universalist camp.
My relationship with Loki is the most central part of my spiritual life, though I’ve been spending an increasing amount of time with a number of local Powers, and spirit work focused on Them/this place. I am a fervent environmentalist, which meshes very well with my spiritual life (here’s a 2-year-old post that gets into some of that).
Among many Others, I am also a devotee of the Norse Powers of the wild ocean – Ran, Aegir, and the Undines: Kolga, Duva, Blodughadda, Hrong, Hevring, Bylgja, Bara, Unn, and Himinglava.
